====== Pattern Projector ====== ===== How to use ===== Use the Steam Controller as a mouse (Press steam button to turn on) and the keyboard to turn it on. To turn it off use the power off button in the OS, the projector will automatically go into power saving mode. ==== Pattern projections ==== Navigate to , use a cutting mat to calibrate the size, and then open a PDF. Please see the pattern pojector docs for more info. ===== Technical Info ===== Username: patproj Password: SewingAndThereforing Originally running the same system as the bus display, I chose rpiOS instead as a normal desktop environment would be more accessible (Plus require less effort on my part) ===== Todo list ===== * Fix mounting to make the projector less squint * Add power button for the Pi that's in an accessible position * Add a USB hub at table level for plugging in keyboards and mice * Add a HDMI splitter so other devices can use the projector ===== Future ideas ===== I've got a spare Xbox Kinect V2 which we could hook up pointing at the table. The Kinect V2 has a 1080p camera, IR camera and a ToF depth camera, and there's AI models online that can turn depth into skeletal hand data. We can use this for touch. I'd suggest for this level of things we should use a mini PC with a basic GPU so we can run nice graphics and handle AI models with no performance concerns ===== Inspirations ===== This was originally created to project sewing patterns () however I realised that having a screen like this was too cool to be just for that. Greg showed me () which was a very similar thing using this sort of display. I don't think we can build something that good but we can at least run a few games.
