====== Dye Sub printer ====== On loan from Jacob, in G14. The printer is a Sawgrass SG800. ===== Printing ===== To print, you need the proprietary [[https://www.sawgrassink.com/products/software/|sawgrass software]], and to sign in. There are shared credentials [[private:passwords|here]]. You should be able to discover the printer, if not its IP is ''%%10.38.38.103%%'' This is already setup on the radio PC. If using sublimation paper, feed it in with the backing side up, so that you print on the transfer side. Remember you'll want to print with it mirrored in most cases - the software has an option for this. ===== Heat press ===== The heat press is next to the dye sub printer - make sure you don't leave it on as it will stay heated. Use SET to adjust the temperature and time you want, and the dial on top for the pressure. Please don't change any of the advanced settings. When printing, you should have: | Top | | Protective sheet (mesh-looking things) | | Sublimation paper (printed side down) | | Fabric | | Red heat protective mat | | White foam mat | | Bottom | Press down on the control panel to start the timer. These are the manufacturer recommendations for time, they may need to be adjusted: |Material|Temperature|Time|Pressure|Notes| |Aluminium sheet|170-180C|80-90sec|Medium| |Aluminium alloy coating|180-200C|45-60sec|Medium| |Ceramics|160-180C|60-90sec|Light| |Chemical Fibers or Fibres|160C|20sec|Medium| |Cotton|200C|60sec|High| |Cotton poly blends|175C|10sec|High| |Crystal photo block|190C|180sec|Medium| |Glass Frames|160-170C|60-90sec|Very light| |Mousepads|180C|60sec|Medium| |Pillowcases & Linens|180C|60sec|High| |Polyester|130C|10sec|High|tried at 180C/60 and it was fine| |Rhinestone Transfers|160C|15sec|Medium| |Slate Rock Photo|180C|420sec|Medium|nice| |Wood|190C|50sec|Medium| |Paperboard pieces|180C|60sec|Medium| |Stainless steel sports bottle|16-170C|60-90sec|Medium|We dont have a mug press
