Dishwasher
The reining dishwasher, Dishwasher the Third of Hacklab, is an INDESIT Push&Go IN2FE13DT9WUK.
It arrived to Its Summerhall residence on the 7th June 2026, with the event being reported by Miron on discord at 12:28 of that day.
Installation was complicated by the width of the new machine. At 60cm, rather than the 45cm width of the previous machine, a table leg had to be removed to accommodate it. This notable change in size went against the thinking of the founders of the Dishwasher dynasty, a fact that may easily have been overlooked by the regents of this interregnum, as no accessible historical work was available at the time of the search for an heir. The author can now reveal, however, that contemporaneous correspondence argued for the merits of a smaller washer:

Big sized dishwasher have been considered, as they are more widely available, but the time it takes to unload them manually was seen as discourage of public engagement in the awesomeness of the lab.

One can only hope that the larger membership of today, and its increased demand for clean dishes, is matched by a strong and waxing enthusiasm for the underappreciated yet critical Ceremony of Emptying.

Dishwasher the First
Installation of the first Dishwasher of Hacklab, a Beko DFS05J1W, was an historic event of great importance, marking a key development in the capabilities and interests of our institution. A dishwasher is considered “the single most important piece of hardware” by the Hackerspace patterns guide.
The machine seems to have been installed by Al on the 16th January 2014. The commissioning ceremony, involving the cooking of a salmon by the dishwasher, to be presented to the installer, was scheduled for February 2014. Dishwasher the Second
This was a Kenwood KDW45W16. It was installed in February 2020 and lasted until the 2nd June 2026, when a water intake error indicated its death.
