If you are the last to leave:

• Ask any guests to leave (they can't stay without a member present).
• Put away your stuff, and clean your workspace. Do not force someone else to clean up your mess.
• Put away food, or the mice might come for it. There is a box labelled table food, which is for any food that was left on the table.
• Put on the dishwasher, unless there is little in it.
• Check that any hot items have been switched-off (soldering irons, glue guns).
• Switch off other unneeded items, e.g. bench power supplies.
• Press the exit button on the control panel. This will switch off the heating, G1 lights, amp, and maybe other things. It also sets the Space State to closed.

Go to every room (G1, G2, G8, G11, and G14) and, where applicable:

• Switch off lights
• Close windows
• Lock doors

In the corridor:

• Fire exits: check closed. (See Summerhall Fire Exits.) The corridor outside G1 has a fire exit at both ends. Sometimes people leave these open.
• Lights: Switch off corridor and toilet lights, if no other tenants are around.
• Doors: Check the door to the stairwell and the main door are closed. Often these are wedged open by the ice company. This should never be the case, because they are fire doors, and required to be closed for access and environmental control, but often it is so.
