Code of Conduct Proposal

It was proposed that Hacklab should adopt a code of conduct. This is a draft of a potential code of conduct.

See also antiharassment.

We are committed to making Edinburgh Hacklab an inclusive and welcoming space for everyone.

Everyone who participates in Edinburgh Hacklab is required to abide by this code of conduct, both in the physical space and on any online channels. We will not tolerate harassment of members of the community or discriminatory behaviour of any form.

Specifically:

  • Do not engage in homophobic, racist, transphobic, ableist, sexist, or otherwise prejudiced behaviour.
  • Do not harass people. Harassment includes stalking and unconsented physical contact or sexual attention. Dressing or acting in a certain way is not consent.
  • Everybody's personal space is their own. If you are asked to leave someone alone you must respect this.
  • Some members of the community may not want to be filmed or photographed. Respect their wishes.
  • Aggression and elitism are not welcome — nobody should be afraid to ask questions or make comments.
