We now have a new amp in G1 on long term loan from tkerby. It is a Yamaha RX-V673
It can be remotely controlled using https://github.com/wuub/rxv
There is currently a script on ehl-vm-things under /srv/docker/amp_api that allows channel changing and volume control.
